The Regulators are a select group of dutch reggae & ska veterans dedicated to creating the sweet harmonies and fat rhythms of Jamaica’s most creative musical era: the mid 1960’s-1970’s, when soulful tandems like the Skatalites, the Upsetters, Soul Vendors, BabaBrooks, Granville Williams Orchestra, Lyn Taitt, Theophilus Beckford and Sound Dimension ruled Kingston’s street corners and dance halls. From Ska to Rocksteady, The Regulators’ repertoire pumps the heartbeat of this unforgettable time.
In the past twenty-five years, the Regulators had have the honor to perform together with artists and bands such as the Skatalites, the Specials, Desmond Dekker, Derrick Morgan, Judge Dread, New York Ska Jazz Ensemble and the Aggrolites.
Cd’s and recordings have included “Tune in your regulator” (2005) and “In a dancing mood “(2010). A number of tracks have appeared on compilation cd’s.
